Food Consumption Pattern in Rural Areas of Bangladesh

The study was conducted to assess the food habit and dietary patterns of rural people in Bogura district. A total 37 households were considered as respondents for study. specially designed questionnaire used a tool collecting data. revealed people's family background, occupation, consumption average intake carbohydrates, protein, oil, fruits other items, factors affecting their selection, satisfaction level regarding under specific objectives. interviewees' mean household size 5.19, whereas most belonged agricultural (35.14%). It found that rice essentially dominated daily per person at 422.60 grams making up 52.37% also constituted share carbohydrate consumption. respondent consumes vegetables (185.10g/capita/day) leafy (56.67g/capita/day) moderate amounts but lesser amount fruits(35.45g/capita/day). Nutrition price first second determinants choice (16 15 households), 54.06% satisfied with present intake. Most took protein four days week, highest fish (42.05g/capita/day) preference. By conducting more awareness programmes on importance balanced consumption, nutrition, quality food, homestead gardening by governmental agencies non-governmental organizations working area, scenario can be improved.
